Terms of Use

What The Counselors Is

The Counselors is a self-reflection and personal governance tool. It provides structured prompts designed to help you think clearly about different areas of your life. These prompts are intended to be used with third-party AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini) as a framework for self-guided reflection.

What The Counselors Is Not

The Counselors is not therapy, counseling, medical advice, psychiatric care, or a substitute for professional mental health treatment. The word "Counselor" in our name refers to a structured advisory role — not a licensed clinical practitioner.

The prompts provided do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any mental health condition. They are not designed to address clinical depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, suicidal ideation, self-harm, or any other clinical condition.

If You Are in Crisis

If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact:

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — Call or text 988 (US)
Crisis Text Line — Text HOME to 741741
Emergency Services — Call 911

Do not rely on The Counselors or any AI tool in a mental health emergency.

Your Data and Privacy

The Counselors does not collect, store, or have access to anything you share during a counselor session. Your session takes place entirely between you and the third-party AI provider you choose to use (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, Google). We never see your responses.

When you provide your email address through our website, it is stored by our email service provider (Kit, formerly ConvertKit) for the sole purpose of delivering the prompt and occasional product updates. You may unsubscribe at any time.

The optional beta feedback debrief is designed to capture prompt performance data only — not personal information from your session. Sharing the debrief is voluntary.

Third-Party AI Providers

The Counselors prompts are designed to be used with third-party AI services. Each provider has its own terms of service, privacy policy, and data handling practices. We are not responsible for how these providers process, store, or use your data. Please review the privacy policy of your chosen AI provider before beginning a session.

No Guarantees

The Counselors is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We make no claims about the effectiveness, accuracy, or completeness of the prompts or any outcomes that may result from using them. Use is at your own discretion and risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Counselors, its creator, and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from or related to your use of the prompts, the website, or any associated materials.

Use at Your Own Discretion

By using The Counselors prompts, you acknowledge that:

— You are using them for personal self-reflection only
— You understand this is not professional mental health care
— You will seek professional help if you are experiencing a mental health crisis
— You accept full responsibility for how you use the prompts and any decisions you make as a result
